Greentrepreneur.com.au is dedicated to providing Australian small businesses with the ability to engage with the issue of environmental sustainability. We encourage entrepreneurs and business owners to consider their environmental practices – assisting in creating marketing and media campaigns to promote green endeavours to the community. We believe green thinking is a corporate responsibility – not an option.
The community is deeply suspicious of “industry” and the effect corporations and businesses have on the environment. Profit lines are no longer the only concern for investors. Businesses need to be doing the right thing by customers, investors and the global community. Small businesses are in a position to ride the wave of eco-action by becoming “greentrepreneurs.” While government responses to the issue are dragged through political checks and balances the business community can act now and raise the bar on environmental practices.
The Stern Report (October 2006) on the economic impact of climate change thrust the issue forward as a grave commercial concern. Environmentally sustainable practice isn’t a matter of being seen to do the right thing to increase market share. It is the right thing to do.
